Remember how when you got those stitches you couldn't feel it? If you pull them, or have a re-tear you will feel it. And doc may not numb you for the re-stitch. Also the embolism is a concern until all spotting is gone. Drs don't jsut say 6 weeks because that is when you are supposed to see them again. They have actual biological reasons.
So play around, but no intercourse!

I still don't get the whole idea of not being able to wait. Maybe it's because I have four kids hanging on me all day. I'm with the no libido girls here.

But seriously there is a reason they say 6 weeks. Technically the reason you bleed is there is an open wound inside you. You want to be careful about bacteria and such. And don't forget about those stitches. Ouch! if you retear and have to get restitched.

Great to read a post not about politics. I agree. I'm a no-go with the stitches. I also agree with epv5. About the milk let down, it's absolutely true. A veritable fountain can happen. And, as my hubby can attest. Breast milk is not one of the finer food groups.

If you had a vag. delivery, I would say go for it. BUT, since you had a c-section, you totally need to wait. Your risk of infection is higher because of all of those internal stitches. Plus, any abnormal rips or tears in tissue that a stitch is holding together can cause some nasty scarring inside(adhesions). And let me tell ya, adhesions are no fun. In the meanwhile, nobody said you can't play around, umm, manually! And of course, there IS oral. unless that's not a territory you're both comfortable with. I know it isn't the same, but it's a great way to get the edge off!
