Probably a smart thing to do. You never know who's looking or watching for an opportunity. Again, it is smart to be aware and vigilant.

Okaaayyy - not sure why I'm so confused about this, but I'll try to deal.
Is it safe to tell people who live in, on, or near Kansas City in the... southern region region of the city to be on the lookout for a blue 4-door Chevy sedan that drives around without lights on at night? This is information I just got from my super vigilant FB friends who don't live anywhere near Waldo. In fact, I can't even tell you if they're in country.
Wow, I'm so not dealing.

Re: I deleted a thread
Kady -you should also probably delete the M2M meet up threads that say right on the forum EXACTLY where people are going to meet and EXACTLY when people are going to meet. THAT is dangerous!
If you are gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.

Read about internet safety...the rapist didn't need to be the reader. It could be another whack job who knows how to navigate the internet, pinpoint your location by doing some IP hacks (this is a GUI to a database...it CAN happen) and there you go, someone we know is a victim, because of a post.

There's public safety and then there is censorship. This was safety. Kudos.

Lots of paranoia out there about bad people possibly using the internet to stalk victims ... very few (if any) incidences. Just FYI. In the interest of calming paranoia, I'd be happy to take the time to look up sources, if anyone likes.

Me too. If there were addresses flying around, we could have had a mean t.p. session. Now, that's dangerous.

Re: I deleted a thread
I'll tell you why I deleted my post on that thread, even though it said nothing about where I lived, where someone could hide near my house, or they type of security I have. I deleted mine because a good friend came to me and pointed out that this is a public forum. It is also where we share a lot of personal information. It's all archived and easily accessible. My overactive imagination took over and added that perhaps, someone could be " getting off" reading this thread and I got grossed out. Might not happen, might have been some good info on the thread, might have been a discussion that mirrors others happening around the city-- but again..who knows.
Really, there have been very few threads deleted by Kady on here ( spam aside) so I'm just going to thank her and Jen for acting on this one.
