Sad to See This Site Is Dying

Sad to See This Site Is Dying

Postby battlefieldmomma on Wed Jul 10, 2013 1:18 pm

I never managed to get a photo posted, but I did enjoy reading posts from moms around the KC area.

Even though we had different points of view on different topics, for the most part, we respected each others' opinions, and maybe, just maybe, learned a little.

I'm sad to see this forum dying, and sad that the KC Star had let it slip. Perhaps they have something else in mind, but since they've had since January to implement changes (with none implemented), my best guess is that the forum will just die for lack of participation.

So, for those moms who are still reading this, I hope you are having a great summer.

I agree that it's sad that there is so little participation these days. I met so may wonderful women here that have become real life friends. I am sad for those new moms that may not have that opportunity if this site is no longer here.

Agreed. I've been doing my best to keep posting on M2M ... and glad to see others do so, as well.

Sad but true. This site is in the ICU as far as commenting goes. I believe that the KC Star is partly at fault here. They buried Mom2Mom (it's no longer on the home page, unless you know where to look), so that new people can no longer find us as easily as I once did.

I miss all the wonderful, colorful comments from the time when we had more members. Even the blogs on the sidebar seem to be coming less frequently.

I'll keep coming here. Any medicine for the sickness of inattention to this site?

If the Star does decide to pull the plug on the site, it would be nice for them to let us last users know, so we can say farewell.

I received a letter (or email) and they said the site would be closing soon, but I can't remember what the date said.

It was nice to get to know people and there are some (like you Jolynne) that I never got to meet but would have like too. It would be nice if we could exchange emails before they officially close the site.

It is sad, because even when my life was busy I might steal a few minutes during the day to check out the daily blog or the latest topics.

I think it started to die before the Star made changes though, because there was some difficulty when people talked about hard, hot political/religious topics. It is funny, we want to talk about important things, but human experience, moral upbringing and our ideas of what should/shouldn't be sure make it hard to make those conversations occur.

I have appreciated my time here. Hopefully we can come up with another venue for moms getting together.

I am in the "hate to see Mom2Mom go" group! It has been dwindling for some time but when it got buried deeper in the paper it seemed to be failing. Really have enjoyed it. Hopefully it can be revived.

We could create a M2MKC refugee group on Facebook. How many of you would be interested?
