Goodbye and thank you, mom2mom!

Hello mom2momers,

I wanted to let you all know that after tomorrow I am leaving The Kansas City Star (and mom2mom) to take a job as a senior communications specialist at UMKC. It's an exciting opportunity for me, and I'm thrilled about the change. But I will miss working at The Star, and being part of mom2mom, which we launched more than five years ago.

Editors at The Star are working to name my successor, and mom2mom is scheduled for some exciting changes and improvements in the months ahead. It will be redesigned as part of the bigger redesign of KansasCity.com currently underway. For now, there will be no weekly poll, but the featured blogs will continue on the site. (Thank you wonderful featured bloggers!)

So keep reading! I know I will. I can't wait to see where mom2mom goes in the future. This is a great opportunity to refresh the site, so The Star would like to hear from you. Please post here with any suggestions you have for the site. What would you like to see on mom2mom in the future?

I am so grateful for and appreciative of all of your contributions to mom2mom. We couldn't have done it without you all! I've been so proud to be part of this mom community.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet women so very unlike me that I would have never encountered them in my regular life.

Women who are agnostics or atheists or non Christians are not people I encounter in my daily comings and goings. They are no different than I am, though, in wanting a better world, a safer community, a successful child, a stable relationship, healthy food for my family or peace on earth in our lifetimes. I would never have met some amazing women who share these ideals had it not been for Mom2Mom. My world is a much bigger and richer place because of the women I have met on M2M.
