Celebrating Christmas With a Dental Emergency

Celebrating Christmas With a Dental Emergency
My 13-year-old would have to get an infection in her jaw on Christmas day. Any idea how hard it is getting dental care on a holiday? Sigh.
The dentist put her on antibiotics and pain killers, and she's scheduled for root canal surgery on New Year's Eve.
On the upside, Santa brought me a brand new computer and monitor! (And I have plenty of time to use it while staying home with a sick child.)
How was everyone else's holiday? Hopefully healthier than ours.

Coincidentally, I just hung up the phone with the dentist. I think while we were away visiting, I pulled a crown loose or something. Big time pain and 850 miles from home is not a good combination.

Oh, I feel so bad for your daughter! Mouth pain is horrible-and I can 't imagine how hard it was to find someone open to help.
My sickness this year wasn't dental, it was in my sinuses and everytime I went to urgent care that waits were horrendous, so I had to wait until the day after Christmas to go to the doctor. There must be a lot of sickness going around.

Re: Celebrating Christmas With a Dental Emergency
It's unpleasant to be sick at any time, but especially so over the holidays. Hope everyone gets to feeling better soon.
My daughter's appointment with the root canal specialist is New Year's Eve. Gonna be a rockin' New Year's around here, let me tell you.
But -- in the meantime -- she's been on antibiotics and pain killers for a couple of days and felt well enough to attend a friend's birthday slumber party tonight.
Kids are so resilient.
