Changing trim color

Changing trim color

Postby mamalackey on Wed Mar 27, 2013 3:52 pm

We are thinking about changing the cabinets in our kitchen to white. All the wood trim in the house is maple color. How do we know what to change to white and what not to? We have a fairly open floor plan.

Just my opinion... I would change it all to white trim. You might go to hgtv.com and see if they have an opinion. Seems like on their shows people always walk in and like it when there is white trim.

There might be a program out there where you can take a picture and change it in the picture to make it look that way to see if you like it.

Here is a sample to get and idea of what the two look like together http://classickitchencabinetrefacing.co ... .38.27.jpg

If you just type in white kitchen cabinets with oak trim in Google it will bring up a lot of pictures that you can look at to see how it looks to you.

Some people might love it and others won't just depends on what you think!

I ran into that trouble when painting our kitchen, which is partly open to the family room. There were some transitional areas the painter asked me about that had never occurred to me. We just conferred and decided on what the best option was. But if it were a bigger project -- like a whole house -- I'd probably want to make a diagram of some sort.
