Fourth of July!

Fourth of July!

Postby JoLynne on Wed Jul 03, 2013 7:59 am

So who's doing what for the 4th?

My sister in Holt, Mo., is having a lot of family members there for swimming, reunion and fireworks.

We haven't seen some of these folks for years and are really looking forward to it. Although it's been long enough since my 13-year-old has seen her beloved cousin that she's nervous about picking up the relationship again.

I bet they start off a little awkward and end up having a great time.

Baking the cherry pie my husband asked for. Not sure what else is going to happen!

My kids are out of town, so it was me & the pets. We had a quiet day, but the nighttime was pretty scary for them because of all of the fireworks.

We went to Villagefest in Prairie Village - very fun for families! Also to the free swim at the PV pool. Grilled burgers and hot doggies, and saw the fireworks displays from a great vantage point at I-435 and State Line (where you can see the Leawood display and the Corporate Woods display in the distance).
