How Did You Celebrate St. Patrick's Day?

How Did You Celebrate St. Patrick's Day?

Postby JoLynne on Mon Mar 18, 2013 9:01 am

We were at Naka-kon, where a lot of the kids were wearing green (in addition to their cosplay). There were even a few leprechauns running around the convention. On the way home, we were so exhausted. I usually make corned beef and cabbage but just didn't have the energy, so we stopped at the grocery store. Luckily the deli had corned beef and cabbage dinners!

We went to the parade in Brookside on Sat. Very family friendly parade, I love it! Heck, I love all parades! I broke out my green beads and my "You've got to be Irish to be this good looking" pin, too. ;)

Made pea and potato soup on Sunday, but didn't get around to making scones or Irish bread. We went to the Oz movie - I'd recommend it for the special effects and the 'wizard's redemption,' if nothing else.

Dreary weather, but fun weekend.

I had green on my bracelet!!!! We didn't do anything. I did do my grocery shopping at walmart yesterday, but they were out of corned beef. So, our yearly corned beef on st pattys day tradition is over. Oh well.

My daughter's school marched in the parade in Brookside: Kansas City Academy.

We stayed home and had homemade soup, nothing exciting but we were warm and happy.
