Need to Vent ...

Need to Vent ...

Postby JoLynne on Sun Apr 21, 2013 1:54 pm

Question -- If you have a problem with something your neighbor is doing, do you: A. Introduce yourself, explain what the problem is and negotiate a solution or B. Start yelling at the person without a word of introduction first? And which approach do you think would be more effective? Sheesh! The daughter of one my neighbors (she doesn't even live in the neighborhood) needs some lessons in common courtesy.

I go with C. Seeth and rant to my husband and friends and don't ever address the situation because I don't like confrontation! :?

It would depend on how major of an issue it was/is!! I'd maybe go with A unless I could try to deal with it and then it would be C.... I've done A though before because of a neighbors child!!

I'm not a fan of confrontation either, but I vote for A. Nothing gets solved until you start to talk (not yell or curse).

LOL! My neighbor's grown daughter opted for B, and I tried for A ... but that only made her louder and angrier for some reason. And it wasn't a big deal. Actually, it was pretty ridiculous. She saw my dog relieving herself when we were out walking (I usually carry a bag to clean up after, but this time the dog was indisposed, and I ran out of bags before we could get home.) Would you believe the woman jumped in her car, drove after me and started shouting that I was a vulgar person for not cleaning up after my dog? I told her I'd be glad to talk when she calmed down. Sigh.
