Z-pac doesn't seem as effective for us as a full course of antibiotics. DD however is allergic to penicillin, so the z-pac is best for her. More expensive co pay is another disadvantage. Yogurt does help with the tummy issues.

Penicillin allergic, means a Z-pak, in most cases.

I also LOVE zpac. Especially because I have such a horrible time remembering to take medicine. Only having to remember 1 a day for a few days is a lot easier for me. It upsets my stomach a little, but for me just eating a yogurt or two a day (especially if you eat Activia) has kept away anything too unpleasant.
I had to take it when I had morning sickness (not a great combo), and my Dr. just told me to stick to very bland foods (what is that diet called? It was basically just all white food...) and that, combined with yogurt worked for me.
