Most of my favorite slow cooker recipes are from Taste of Home, as well. As a matter of fact, my go-to source is their 2007 Slow Cooker Recipes publication.

Here's a really simple one that's really yummy on a cold winter ... er, spring ... night:

Beef Tips
Cook Time: 6 to 7 Hours

This simple recipe showcases tender beef sirloin. Serve over pasta for a simple, filling meal.

1 lb. beef sirloin tips, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 to 3 celery ribs, chopped
2 to 3 medium carrots, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed golden mushroom soup, undiluted
1/2 to 1 cup white wine or beef broth
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
Hot cooked pasta

In a 3-qt. slow cooker, combine first six ingredients. Cover; cook on low for 6-7 hours or until meat is tender.

Combine cornstarch and water until smooth. Gradually stir into pan juices. Cover; cook on high 15 minutes or until thickened. Serve over pasta.

Yield: 4 servings

That sounds yummy :-). I have white chicken chili in the crockpot now. Actually, it is a Taste of Home recipe also :-)

I got this one from mom2momkc a few years ago and we love it!

Italian Beef
4 lb. chuck roast or top round roast
1 (o.6 oz) packet Good Seasons Zesty Italian salad dressing mix
1 envelope Lipton dry onion soup mix
1 (14 oz.) can beef consomme or broth
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 TBSP vinegar
5 pepperoncini peppers (can be found in pickle section of grocery store)

Place meat and all other ingredients in a 5-quart cockpot or slow cooker. (I like to brown the meat in a oiled skillet first.) Cook on HIGH for 7 hours or until meat falls apart. Break meat apart further using two forks. Cook for one more hour. Remove meat from cooker with a slotted spoon. Reserve any liquid as au jus. Serve on hard rolls.

We have even put it on the rolls and then put provolone cheese on top and put it under the broiler and it was super yummy!

Also try looking at this blog http://joelens.blogspot.com/ just type in crock pot in the search box and it will bring up several different things. We have made lots of recipes from this site and haven't found one that was bad yet!

They fryer makes everything better!! I just wish they weren't such a pain to clean. I think ours has made it to the basement because it was to difficult to clean.
