*Said in my best Scarlett O'Hara accent* Why, I never colored my hair! I merely enhance the shade I was born with!
No, I didn't stop enhancing. I may have switched to a less caustic smelling brand, and stretched out the sessions with the box, but never stopped.

Yes, I stopped coloring my hair, but it wasn't because of the chemicals. Coloring my hair tends to come and go in phases and I just happened to not be in the phase at the time. Also, my hair changed textures several times and I didn't process my hair for fear I might end up with orange hair.

I colored my hair (well actually high-lighted) throughtout my pregnancy, probably three times. My ob-gyn said that not enough of the chemical are absorbed through your skin to hurt the baby & just to be sure to do it in a well ventilated area to minimize breathing the chemicals in.

You know, I don't remember my doctor taking issue with hair dying. Of course, I did it far less often back then - probably both due to finances and having considerably less gray hair! My husband is fond of saying, "We'll never really know what color your hair is"...haha!

Re: Mom2mom poll:Did you stop coloring your hair when pregnant?
I gave up nothing. I drank a cup of coffee in the morning, a cup in the afternoon. I dyed my hair. I worked out. I got massages. Towards the end of my pregnancy I was big and miserable and I had a small glass of wine just about every night so I could sleep. The only "rule" I followed from my doctor was to not sit in a hot tub, but I did have hot baths. My point is, as in life, not just in pregnancy; do things in moderation. I had a 9 lb. healthy baby boy.

I think I did, but just through the first trimester. After that, I did get it colored 2-3 times, if I remember correctly.

I didn't have to stop dying my hair because I never started until after my fifth child. For some reason she's caused me enough grey hair to make me reach for the bottle of hair dye. I think I'm in trouble.
