Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh.
HEY!
Toys R Us, Target and Walmart have all released their "Big Toy" books.
Bo flipped through a few pages and didn't seem excited about much. He's getting older. Most of the toys in those ads are for preschoolers to 5-year-olds.
The days of using a red marker to circle his favorite toys are over.
This year his big wishes are for Skylanders Giants and a tablet.
The good mom that I am, I've already ordered both. Amazon.com is my friend.
Since both of those items cost a pretty penny, we're most likely done shopping for Bo.
I did some research on tablets and decided that the Kindle Fire HD was the direction we were headed.
It seems affordable, advanced and fast.
I'm sure we'll rummage around and find some inexpensive things to put in his stocking.
Bo Luke is an easy kid to please. He asked for an "iPad" and I told him that Santa didn't have that kind of money and that a Kindle Fire HD was better anyways.
Santa is doing good to even afford those gifts.
He bought into my "ad," shrugged and said: "OK."
I told him that you can play games, read books, surf the web, watch movies and even listen to music on a Kindle Fire HD.
We've tried to teach him that name-brand stuff is sometimes overrated.
I'm sure as he gets older he won't be easily convinced.
At first I wasn't convinced he was old enough to have a tablet. But he plays on the computer now and if having a tablet means some kind of academic "stuff" will be going on, then I'm all for it.
It'll end up being a family tablet. Luke and I will snatch it away for our own pleasures.
Anyone going to Black Friday in two weeks?
I'm staying away from that mess. Even though I love online shopping, I usually only order online when I know exactly what I'm searching for.
I saw a few friends on Facebook have also started their Christmas shopping. I'm always afraid that if I wait too long the things Bo wants will be sold out.
In other news, I'm excited to announce that he'll be performing in his second piano recital this weekend. His songs will include: "Cinderella's Waltz" and "Ludwig's Accents."
Even though he isn't playing any Christmas music, his piano teacher got him his first Christmas piano song book.
He is learning "Jingle Bells" and a special request for his nana's favorite, "Silent Night."
