I must have an explosion phobia. I'm not sure where it came from.
I've never been involved in any type of explosion. Sure, I've seen them happen mostly in movies and at times on the news.
When I'm standing there, pumping gas reading the WARNING sign, I look around to make sure no one is smoking a cigarette or on their cell phone.
I look in the back seat of my car where my son sits. I think to myself: "Stupid people can ruin things for everyone."
I have visions of QT exploding. I often wonder if it'd be a slow death or a fast one.
Then there are those times when fall arrives and we awaken the furnace.
There's that smell in the air. The smell of burnt gas. Luke always assures me that it's normal for the furnace to smell like that after it's been off all summer.
I often lay in bed at night and listen to the heat blow through the vents.
I think to myself: "What if our house explodes while we are sleeping?"
Ever get that feeling that your car is gonna explode?
I do.
I often wonder to myself: "What if I get in a car accident and something flames up and ignites the gas in my car and I'm trapped and can't get me or my son out."
I know. I know.
Crazy thoughts on my part. But crazy s*&% can and does happen.
Luke knows a plumber that was involved in an explosion on the job. He survived with severe burns all over his body.
He seems to have a great outlook on life now.
I won't even bring up Fourth of July and fearing that a bottle rocket will catch our roof on fire while we are gone and our dog will be trapped inside burning to death.
What is wrong with me?
What about you guys? Am I alone out there on my fear of things exploding?
